What’s On My Desk

I don’t know about you, but I work an 8 hour day, if not longer. I also spend an hour getting ready for work in the morning, 20 minutes driving to work, and 20 minutes driving home from work. So, really, I’m spending a minimum of 48 hours and 20 minutes on work related things every week.

If I’m investing this much time in something, it needs to be a place I want to be at. It needs to be cute and happy and energizing. And that’s exactly the vibe I’ve created at my desk.

Let’s walk through what I’ve got at my home away from home, shall we?

Phone stand. This funky orange thing is a phone stand. Pablo got it for me on one of our rare runs to an office supply store. I love this – it’s a cute way to keep my phone handy.

Headphones. I haven’t had the chance to dive too much into my love of music yet, but suffice it to say I love the stuff. My desk is located in a pretty noisy area of my office – right by collections. I don’t think I could make it through the day without these babies.

Aluminum can tabs. I’m probably the only person who keeps these on my desk, but whatever. Our local Ronald McDonald House collects can tabs to pay for their electricity bill. I’ve even gotten coworkers to contribute their can tabs.

Pictures. I have two pictures on my desk: one of my family with my grandmother and one of me and Pablo. They’re reminders of what’s really important in life and good motivation to work hard all day.

A quote. My mom gave me this quote plaque for Easter. It’s probably pretty bold to have a plaque on my desk that says “Play more, work less,” but it’s something I constantly battle with. This helps me remember how life is meant to be lived.

Owls. If you follow me on Pinterest, you may be aware of the fact that I’m obsessed with owls. Can I explain why? No. I just think they’re really cute. These owls are especially cute to me since they’re both gifts from Pablo. He bought me the one on the left at Mexico in Epcot and the one on the right was the gift he gave me when we’d been together for 3 months.

Hand sanitizer. This is where practical Hanna kicks in. I’m not a germ freak, but I do use this stuff all the time, especially after I open doors. (That’s how germs spread, people!(

Notebooks. If you have to have ‘em, you might as well have cute ones, right? Both of these are from Target. And they’re adorable.

Fortunes. I LOVE fortune cookies. I didn’t see a single one when I was in Asia, so I don’t know how legit they are, but they’re loads of fun. These are two I’ve gotten that I particularly liked.

Now that you know what’s on my desk, I’m curious to know what’s on yours. Any of the same stuff that I have on mine?

The very last Chanel bag! Thank heavens! In truth, Chanel isn’t my favor. I wouldn’t like its conceited Creative Director Karl Lagerfeld. I can’t like its vintage interlace chain. I do not like its reissue Chanel 2.55, even its stereotypical black white palette, and badly innovative creation. However, I can find its beauty. Well, as this Large Shopping Bag in Stitched Aged Metalized Calfskin is a the superior, I do believe it needs to have distinctive glamour. First, My business is so happy it’s not white or black any longer. Karl Lagerfeld finally finds other colors’ charming. Its bronze shade adds more sumptuous and chic characters to the present large bag. And matching with aged metalized calfskin and artificial creases, this Chanel bag interprets an aged yet subtle style. The quilted leather is running with herringbone pattern and stitched CC logo as always. I bet Karl Lagerfeld’s inspiration is exhausted. That’s why the majority of the fa?ade ornaments on Chanel bags is the same with Coco Chanel’s since he was at the helm in 1983. Second, this is a pity to determine interlace chain again. I can not feel that Karl Lagerfeld adhered to what Coco Chanel once said in 1955, “I know women, women adorn chains”. But nowadays ladies have more choices, also to me, I would not like interlace chains at all. It is possible to dirt and hard to wash. After the metal chain gets rusty, the full bag becomes the mud, so does money. Third, I enjoy its measure. The bigger dimension is prevalent this current year. Which is versatile to carry to be effective or travel. Within the weekend, shop or creating a picnic on this stunner, you need to deserve much headturning. The past Chanel bag! Thank heavens!
