What’s In My Purse: Lip Products
I love my lips. (Queue super cute Veggie Tales video.)
But seriously, my lips are important to me. I used to keep a bag with 20+ lip glosses in my purse at all times, but in a (failed) effort to downsize my purse, I decided to pare it down a bit.
These are the lip products that made the cut. (Or, more aptly said, found their way back into my oversized purse.)
1) stila Lip Glaze. I’ve long been a stila fan, but this is actually the first of their products I’ve owned. It came in my July Birchbox. This is a great color – it’s a light neutral gloss that has just enough sparkle to give me a shimmer. It does have a thicker consistency than the other glosses I wear, so don’t plan on doing any kissing when you’ve got this stuff on!
2-5) Smashbox Lip Enhancing Gloss. Smashbox is another brand I have a crush on. I love their logo and I love their products. My mom had their products autoshipped to me quarterly for one year as a birthday gift, which is how I landed these beauties. (Good call, mom!) Each one has a little something different to offer – there’s a girly, professional, romantic, and neutral gloss represented in the group. These are my go-to glosses!
6) Carmex Strawberry Stick. The first time my lips cracked out of dryness was when I was in high school. Not only was it painful, I was mortified – it felt like there was a gaping wound on my lip. (Imagine the trauma!) For years, I kept a stick of Chapstick in my purse, but it just didn’t seem to work. When one of my aunts told me about Carmex, I made the switch and never looked back . This. Stuff. Works.
7) Mary Kay Nourishine Lip Gloss. This is about as close to lipstick as I get. The packaging of this product has changed since I bought it, as has the name (they added “Plus” to it). This stuff is so smooth! It gives a slight stain to my lips, which is perfect for long nights out or even work days. It’s like a chameleon lipgloss – if I’m wearing something dark it looks dark, but if I’m wearing something light it just looks like a pop of color. Do I recommend it? Heck yes!
There’s always room for more lip products in my purse! What do you use?
